Ana’s first project in supply chain was automating a client’s processes on a warehouse 3PL implementation. She cut her teeth (actually fingers) hammering out swim-lane diagrams on current vs. future state, with the objective of reducing costs and error-prone activities.

Geoff Milsom

Partner

  • Started career in supply chain on a bicycle delivering sundries for a same-day e-comm business back when Amazon was still only selling textbooks.
  • He is an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland and at Shenandoah University, teaching courses such as Supply Chain Management, Global Trade Logistics, and Digital Transformations.
  • Studying anthropology in undergrad (with a specific focus on socio-cultural and linguistic) seemed irrelevant for his future in the business world. Now, he realizes the importance and that what makes each company different is really their people and their cultures, not their specific products and distribution strategies.

Jesse Gates

Partner

  • Rooted in the transportation industry, Jesse worked as a lift truck operator, P&D driver, and diesel mechanic throughout high school and college.
  • After finding his groove in supply chain at CH Robinson, Jesse decided to sharpen his technical skills by going back to school to study Information Systems, resulting in a Masters of Information Technology from the University of Maryland.
  • His deep supply chain experience combined with technical knowledge led him to become a consultant, which he has been for the last 9 years.

Jaclyn Wilton

Senior Consultant

  • Jaclyn worked as a consultant at a tech startup during college, helping implement an e-commerce platform for sustainable/secondhand retail companies. Despite efforts to get her to drop out of college and pursue this work full-time, she decided to focus on her supply chain studies as a UMD Terp.
  • She thought working for a government defense contractor would be an interesting career move... she was wrong. This reaffirmed her desire to focus on consulting for commercial supply chains.
  • After jumping back into consulting, Jaclyn worked on several supply chain strategy projects and got a glimpse into how old-school private fleets were. She left her previous consulting job to start her own tech company that primarily focuses on route bidding for private fleets and driver payroll automation. Best of all, this role ultimately led her to Forerunners!

Cameron Brinks

Manager

  • Cameron was one of Geoff’s first students in an undergraduate transportation class. His quick yet borderline irreverent wit juxtaposed with his thoughtful contributions in class made him a fast favorite a decade ago.
  • Cameron's logistics career began in freight forwarding operations. He supported the full planning and execution lifecycle for shippers in various industries. They moved him to a sales role a few years later and he hated that.
  • His time in supply chain has not dulled his enjoyment of creative writing which was his first pursuit during his undergraduate studies as a journalism major. Also, Cameron spends free time working with a non-profit gym to support Baltimore youth.

Michael Feyen

Senior Principal

  • Michael is a trained behavioral scientist who has developed impactful tools, techniques, and approaches for building Change Leadership and Organizational Change Management capabilities.
  • Leveraging his creativity and affability, he has helped logistically intensive businesses build these capabilities when embarking on transformations, during M&A integrations, and for less substantial initiatives such as supply chain software systems implementations.
  • Michael holds a Master of Arts in social-organizational psychology and applied linguistics, from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Hope College. When he is not working, Michael spends time with his family in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Jeroen Celis

Senior Principal

  • Jeroen loves helping clients consciously strategize, design, and execute transformational change by co-creating content (systems, processes, structures, and data) and human dynamics (mindset, behavior, and culture).
  • He has worked within and across various functions and industries and is particularly well-versed in end-to-end supply chain, logistics integration, and master data. Before his consulting career, he worked for Bridgestone and Diageo in order/lead-to-cash.
  • Jeroen earned his Master's in business engineering from Hasselt University (Belgium) and Heriot-Watt University (UK); currently he lives in New York City with his wife, Charlotte. After business hours, he loves playing the guitar and writing music with his band.

Mathew Burke

Principal Consultant
  • With over 15 years of expertise in business processes, systems configuration, integration, and supply chain modeling, Mat excels in areas such as off-price retail, inventory positioning, and warehouse optimization.
  • He began his career at a produce and truckload broker, transitioned to consulting as a solution architect overseeing warehouse and transportation systems, led ERP and WMS projects at Castellini Company, and served as a senior industrial engineer at Nordstrom, addressing retail inventory, capacity, and execution
  • Mat holds a BA in Marketing and E-Commerce, an MBA in Supply Chain Management, and professional certifications in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and PMP.
Ana Sofía Colorado

Associate Consultant

  • Ana's childhood curiosity about the delivery of goods and services, coupled with her passion for optimizing processes, guided her into the supply chain industry. She values the versatility of working in different environments and enjoys integrating continuous improvement across various industries.
  • Ana always knew she wanted to work in the supply chain industry. After graduating from Purdue University, with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineer, Ana had plenty of options to pursue various fields but chose to stay focused on supply chain and operations.

Cecelia Volker

Manager

  • Like Cameron, Cece was one of Geoff's early supply chain students at the University of Maryland. Unlike Cameron, Cece sat front-and-center, never skipping class, and provided feedback on how to mentor her more effectively. Cece has since given guest lectures for Geoff’s supply-chain classes and enjoys interacting with students and sharing wisdom from her career journey.
  • After working as a planner and coordinator in international transportation for Stanley Black & Decker, Cece pivoted over to consulting for a medium sized supply chain consultancy. She worked on strategy and implementation projects, escalating quickly from consultant to senior consultant, and eventually project manager. Cece is fiercely passionate about helping her community, so for two years left consulting and worked for a non-profit regional food distribution organization, where she oversaw their operations to ensure 500+ people received no-cost groceries daily.
  • In her down time, she continues to volunteer in her community, reads books cover-to-cover, attends yoga, urban hikes, and sharpens her Spanish fluency.

Ansar Gubin

Associate Consultant

  • Ansar embarked on his supply chain journey during a telecom internship. Tasked with optimizing fleet fuel expenses, he delved into accounting reports and SQL data-wrangling which ignited his passion for the industry.
  • His deep-dedication to learning led him to collaborate with an economics professor on an artificial intelligence research project. Their resulting work empowered fellow students to leverage AI as a tool to foster a healthier academic environment.
  • Ansar graduated from Truman State University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He strongly believes that "The Wealth of Nations" by Adam Smith is an exciting read. Aside from his academic passions, he loves cooking with his family and friends.
